Dua of Prophet Ibrahim Alaihis Salam

﴿ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (127) رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ (128) ﴾ البقرة: ١٢٧ – ١٢٨

Rabbana Taqabbal minna innaka antassamiul aleem.  Rabbana wajalna muslemaine laka wamin zurriyatena ummatam muslematal laka wa-arena manasikna watub alaina innaka antat-tawwabur Raheem.

 “Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us.  Verily, You are the all-Hearer, the All-Knower.”

“Our Lord! And make us submissive to you and of our offspring a nation submissive to You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and Umrah), and accept our repentance.  Truly, You are the One who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. 

(Al-Baqara:127-128)

﴿ وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَٰذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَنْ نَعْبُدَ الْأَصْنَامَ {35}رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِنَ النَّاسِ ۖ فَمَنْ تَبِعَنِي فَإِنَّهُ مِنِّي ۖ وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ {36}رَبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنْتُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِنْدَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُمْ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ {37}رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ ۗ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ {38}الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ {39} رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ {40} رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ {41}﴾  إبراهيم: ٣٥ – ٤١

Wa iz qala Ibrahimu Rabbijal hazal balada aamenau wajnubni wabaniyya an-nabudal asnam. Rabbe inna hunna adlalna kaseeram menan naase faman tabiani fa innahu minni waman asani fainnaka Ghafoorur Raheem. Rabbana inni askantu min zurriyati biwadin ghaire zi zariin inda baitikal muharrame Rabbana leyuqimus salata fajal afaedatam menan nasi tahwi elaihim warzuqhum menas samarate laallahum yashkuroon.  Rabbana innaka ta’alamu ma nukhfi wama nulenu wama yakhfa alallahe min shaiien fil arzi wala fis-samaae.  Alhamdulillahillazi wa habali alal kebare Ismaila wa Ishaqa.  Inna Rabbi la samiuddua.  Rabbij alni muqeemassalati wamin zurriyati, Rabbana wataqabbal Dua’a.  Rabbanaghfirli wale waledaiyya walil momineena yauma yaqumul hesab.

“O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols”.

“O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind.  But whoso follows me, he verily is of me.  And whoso disobeys me, still You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”.

“O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat).  So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks”.

“O our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal.  Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allah.

“All praise and thanks are Allah’s Who has given me in old age Ismail (Ishmael) and Ishaq (Isaac).  Verily, my Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations”.

“O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

“Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established.”                                            (Ibrahim: 35-41)

﴿ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ {83} وَاجْعَلْ لِي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ {84}

وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ {85} وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ {86} وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ {87} يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ {88} إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ {89}  ﴾

الشعراء: ٨٣ – ٨٩

Rabbe habli hukmaun walhiqni bissaleheen.  Wajal-li lisana sidqin fil aakhireen.  Wajalni min warasati jannatin nayeem.  Waghfir leabi innahu kaana minazzalleen.  Wala tukhzeni yauma yubasoon.  Yauma la yanfau maal walaa banoon.  Illa man ata- Allaha beqalbin saleem.

My Lord! Bestow Hukm (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous.

And grant me an honourable mention in later generations.

And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight.

And forgive my father, verily, he is of the erring.

And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected.

The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,

Except him who comes to Allah with a clean heart (clean from Shirk (Polytheism) and Nifaq (Hypocrisy)”.                              

     (Al-Shu’ara: 83-89)

﴿ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ {100} ﴾ الصافات: ١٠٠

Rabbe habli minas saliheen.

“My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous.”                 

 (Al-Saffat: 100)

﴿ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ {5} ﴾ الممتحنة: ٥

Rabbana la tajalna fitnatal-lillazina kafaru waghfirlana Rabbana innaka antal Azeezul Hakeem.

“Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.”
